Hamburg's Hafencity to Get Luxury Residential Tower "The Crown"

A new luxury residential tower is emerging in Hamburg's HafenCity. The project, named "The Crown," was presented on Monday.

Currently, Hamburg's most expensive luxury apartments are being developed in HafenCity—after those in the Elbphilharmonie. In the 16 floors of the residential tower, the average price per square meter is €18,000. It is located at Strandkai near the Marco-Polo-Tower.

Most of the Apartments Already Sold

The concrete workers have just reached the twelfth floor, and already almost the entire tower is sold. Only 12 of the 75 luxury apartments are still available, including Top 1, as real estate developer Björn Dahler from DC Developments mentioned: "The most expensive apartments are the two penthouses, each priced at eleven million euros. The smaller one, 415 square meters in size, has been sold. The larger one, at 426 square meters, is still available." An additional seven apartments have already been reserved with the notary.

Views of the Elbphilharmonie or Speicherstadt

Investors quickly snapped up the 55-square-meter apartments for under one million euros. Dahler offers three different interior design styles and created expensive computer animations for each apartment: "We simulated the views from each of the 75 apartments." You can either look out over the Elbphilharmonie, the Speicherstadt, or the musical tent on the other side of the Elbe.

Apartments Ready for Move-In in 2023

Even trees will grow on the penthouse terraces. According to the plans of renowned high-rise architect Christoph Ingenhoven from Düsseldorf, only storm-resistant serviceberries are suitable here. The move-in date for the residential tower "The Crown" is still two years away.
